Open your eyes, embrace the world around you, let the images you see lie in your heart, never shall they be forgotten, never shall they fall apart.

Not again
So I go to the specialist, and apparently someone at the hospital misread the xray because according to the xray from the specialist's point of view, I am not kidney stone free. What a letdown. I thought all the pain was gone! I have a 4mm stone sitting in my right kidney. Its the biggest one yet. Thinking of how violently ill I got with the last one, I cringe. BUT right now its just sitting there It could sit there for a month, a year or years...Meanwhile I have to follow weird instructions (OK theyre not that weird) Eat very little meat, drink lots of water, keep low sodium and lots of fiber, fun fun. If I get a fever and flank pain, they'll get the stupid thing out themselves.
Ok thats my rant. How's everyone else, doing? Now that I have a computer I can read your posts! :)

Fried Computer
I'm back! And with a new computer, with an annoying touch screen as well. So I guess I can touch and type/ Whatever. Anyway let this be a lesson to you all DONT KEEP BEVEREGAGES NEXT TO YOUR COMPUTER!!! Let me update you. I had a glass of orange juice next to my computer, and with the slightest move, I spilled it all over the keyboard, usb drives, cd rom drive front and back. Let's just say I fried my computer and leave it at that.
May the 4th be with you!
That is all!

What? No tea? No soda?
SO....Things are getting better. I went to see the specialist, and he told me that I'm one less kidney stone. That's the good news :) The bad news is he doesn't think my pain is kidney related (I see my GI doc on Monday so maybe he'll have some insight) The bad news, which I'm still grumbling over: No soda, no tea, and no more than 3-4 servings of dairy a day to prevent more stones (again this is only for people who have kidney stones) I was like crap! I had been really putting down bottles and bottles of green tea thinking I was making myself better! lol
But I'm feeling much better except for a little nausea. I need to get back to exercising because I'm starting to gain weight, but I'm so good at making excuses. I think I will after all these appointments are over. (excuse #1 jk. it is a good idea to wait til I'm sure I'm healthy)
Oh, and we went to TGIF Friday's after my appointment...and we had this really cute waiter and he was just really nice...and cute.

Back!
So...I'm back... Didn't feel much like writing in the last few weeks... so much has happened. I've been battling kidney stones lately, and they are excruciatingly painful. Followed by 2 and a half weeks on the BRAT diet (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast) for nausea and not being able to keep anything down, I was thrilled to be able to eat by Christmas!
And now class is over...For my last essay, I wrote a tribute to my mother. It was hard for me, because most of my memories of her have been of her in the hospital or in pain or the night of her death. But I thought hard and bypassed those horrid memories and found the good ones of when I was little and the time I spent with her before things got bad. It's something I needed to write for a long time, and something I will definitely keep.
NOW....Christmas...I got a lot I didn't expect. I didn't know I was even getting presents. I thought we were going to sit around and talk and have a good time. But I have to say this...my brother and his girlfriend got me more Dr. Who stuff then I ever expected lol. A book about the history of the show, a book of all the characters, and as a sort of gag gift, an 11th Doctor action figure LOL Oh and they also got me "Poets Market 2014" time to start writing soon!!!
We also visited my Uncle in the hospital and he's in good spirits, talking football, work, the norm, which is great!

wrromg time
did the weirdest thing last night. I put on my PJs about 5:00 and got in bed with a good book. I woke up at 8pm only it was 8pm, and I thought it was 8am. So I;m like ahhh I need to call the cab company and I kept hearing this recording,,,so I eventually I gave up. I'kk deal with them later. So I took a shower, got dressed did my hair, ate breakfast, and then,,,,I saw the clocks read 8pm., not 8am...all that work for nothing...no wonder the cab company wasn't answering. SO I went back to bed and woke up ar 5 as usual.. Makes for a funny story though.

The essay #2
So I got good feedback about my second essay. I added the parts the prof. suggested, and it came out pretty good. Still trying to work on a topic for essay 3. (the last essay) I better hurry up because we start work shopping as soon as we get back (that means presenting what you have to the class and they critique it.) SIGH I hate deadlines. Time is going by way too fast....I blame DST ending!!!!

Daylights Savings Time
Sooo...Daylights Savings time ends. And I don't like it. I like my sun, as much as I can get. I don't care If I have a busy schedule. I wake up at 6:30 in the morning and it's pitch black outside. But coming home from class in the dark? Not fun. Because I feel like going to bed...then I'm like, oh crap, dinner. And I'm guilty of grabbing a nutrition bar, and calling it dinner. Bad JE8306!
Well, that's my rant....what are your thoughts

So I'm writing my essay on the food pantry. Then I have to turn it around and make it relate to me. Which may surprise some of you. Anyways I've been really tired lately, and once again being shuttled around to doctors and dentists and its taking a toll on me. Probably because I keep avoiding these doctors and dentists and rescheduling and BOOM it happens all in one week. But it makes me really tired and I don't feel like working on my essay, which I better start feel like doing because I present to the class at the end of October and its due Nov. 3. Yawn.
I need to hear some good happy, funny news. Like that fox song Amy posted. THAT was funny. And it got stuck in my head. Someone please cheer me up. I'm feeling kinda down.

Back to prayer
So today everything went wrong. Started out ok. Went to counseling appointment. Funny she gave me a picture of a little jar and asked me to fill it up with all the things that stress me out. Kinda childish, she admitted that but said it works with adults too, nonetheless. So I couldn't fill up my jar. Im not too stressed these days...or so I thought. My "little jar" Blew its cork today. GI issues (keep taking the pill...) losing my keys in my apartment, losing my rosary in my purse, a bottle of facial cleanser exploding on my sweatshirt...and the list goes on. I was a mess. And then, I listened to "You Are More" by Tenth Avenue North awhile ago, (Its my feel better everything's going to be ok song)and for the first time since Lent, I think, I did, or tried to do, a Rosary. I prayed for the good as well as the bad, and I feel a sense of calmness, although I am still anxious.....
Any prayers right now would be welcome.
Thanks for listening

Not Another One! But this is what I signed up for! :P
Well, like I said, I turned in said essay...now there's ANOTHER one due Nov. 7. I have a topic in mind, a literary journalism essay, just have to get it confirmed by prof, and who I want to write about....I missed 2 days of class last week, due to medical ailments.. and apparently I missed a lot...but it couldn't be helped.
Anyways, I am still struggling with these medical issues you probably don't want to hear about....but prayers would be nice.
arrrgghhh...so frustrated right now!
The fair was great, I came home with another bag of cotton candy, although I don't remember what it tastes like because I got up and devoured the whole bag at 3am. Don't ask what I was doing up at 3am eating cotton candy, because I really don't know!

Essay over...moving on
Ok...sorry I haven't been writing...I've been really busy with this essay for class. revising, revising, adding stuff, more revising, even more revising, okay you get my point. But it will all end on Tuesday, because that's when the thing's finally DUE. And I can FINALLY say I'm DONE! Oh, and I also had a kidney infection which threw me off for a couple of days. But it's fall now! I love fall. pretty leaves of different colors, the fair this week, or next, (don't remember exactly, but theyre putting up rides, and vendors are moving into the fairgrounds.) Every year I HAVE to have fair fries loaded with vinegar and ketchup. I know, I know, that alone would put the pounds on but what's the fair without the fries? And I love seeing the animals. Rides are no longer an attraction now that I'm way past that age, but I remember being 12 or 13 and my friends and I getting the all day rides bracelets. But as for now just walking around is nice. Well, that's it for now. Have a good weekend!

Writing and Mums
So class is going good...I have a working essay, which is good, because that is what the prof. is starting to ask for. I want to put some more to it to make it a little longer, and have more content, I believe an essay is never done til its deadline. You can keep revising and editing til then and that's what I will continue to do. I also have to let it sit for a few days and just think about it or take a break and then come back to it, and then I find I have more ideas, and the revision process starts all over again.
Sorry you had to hear that, but I like writing. About writing. Because that's what I do.
Another note, what's with the weather. I'm sitting here wearing jeans and a sweater with the screen door open, and I can feel a cool breeze. It looks like it will rain soon. More rain for my NEW MUMS! They are absolutely beautiful. I got pink ones, red ones, and yellow ones/ My neighbor who has TONS of flowers explained to me how to take care of them. I'm not sure I remember everything she said, but I think I'll be okay. I can always go back and ask her. AND NOW...the sun makes an appearance! I'm putting off my class reading til Sunday or Monday because I find if I do it on Fri Sat or Sun I can't remember anything about what we were supposed to read in the class discussion on Tuesday so I just sit there with a blank stare on my face and no one probably thinks I DID the reading lol. Well, that's all for now.
Have a good weekend everyone :)

Back to school....the Write Stuff!
My class started and it's going great so far. Our first assignment (its a non fiction class) is to write an essay on anything we want. Anything. So my prof. suggested the bus system but I wanted to write a memoir about some of the mental health issues I've experienced and that's ok too. Well I couldn't decide, and I'm not getting credit and I have a lot of free time, love writing so I'll write both and share the one I deem most important or better written with the class. I have the bus one written already but it needs a lot of revision, I am learning, as we study technique along the way. But a huge lift has been lifted off my shoulders because at least I have something written and its not due til Oct. 3! So I'm getting out of the apartment, going to class, and writing...sounds good to me! :)

Seeing and class
I can see! Without glasses. Well ok far distance is a little fuzzy, but not that bad. I was reading a book, before class, and I was like this is SO blurry, so I took my glasses off, and it was a miracle! The words were so clear, as was everything around me...so I didn't wear my glasses to class, and every thing was so easy to read. And I'm able to read this too. I don't know whether I just didn't need bifocals or they took me off the one antipsychotic (Invega) but I'm really happy.
And....I made it to class today. All the peoples are great and seem to have a love for non fiction lit. and there's no whiny people who are taking the class because they HAVE to. Prof. is great too. I think I'm really going this class and get a lot out of it. For me. it's not the credit that counts, it's what I learn and integrate with my writing skills that does.
Enough said. :)
Oh, and my flowers died...except the petunias :(

Bad Timing
Not happy that I can't go to the first day of classes. :( Mother nature has a nature has a way of dropping in on me...say after 3 years, then makes everything 10 times worse, as a result according to my doctor. Luckily, I have someone picking up my syllabus and assignment, so all is good. But I'm missing all the discussion which is crucial. Alas, it is kind of funny how these things happen at the most inconvenient time...like my freshman year the day before I left for band camp. Oh well, it is what is is. Thanks for listening. I wish I had another Hershey bar right now. Could someone send me some chocolate?

Return to Sender
I just got my poems returned to me. No it was not a rejection letter. It was a notice saying the company had closed it's door in 2011. Angst! Now I have to go through the poetry book, and choose another company preferably in the US this time. But there aren't many beginner companies in there. The few the there want like 10 poems, so I better start writing- and a short biography in a cover letter. Gee, what am I supposed to say about my writing career, I don't know...I've never been published....
*draws mind blank" any way I will keep on writing and hopefully crank out some decent poetry....that's my rant.

More Ramblings
Wellllllll, I don't know where to start. I think I have writer's block. Poet's block. I am feeling uninspired. I did write one poem about people's obsession with coffee in the morning and sent it to my brother's girlfriend's friend (what a mouthful. I wish they'd just get married, they've been dating almost 11 years) who does editing so we'll see how that goes. It was funny, I was sweeping the walk this morning and the little girl upstairs 'yelled down at me' from the deck so I said hi and she went screaming back in the house. Either she's really shy, or I look really scary :) I'm eating a lot of fish to help lose weight, cod and salmon are my favorites and I've found our many ways to cook them by stocking up on those little seafood recipe cards found by the seafood department at Meijer. Some of them are pretty easy and taste really good, but of course I have my own ways of cooking too.

Getting back to it!
So the registration lady called back and I am officially registered for a non credit class in a non fiction writing class starting next Tuesday! I don't care if it's fiction, poetry, or non fiction, its WRITING, and that's my passion. It's what I want to do. It's what I need to get back to doing. Forget all the medical drama. I don't FEEL sick (crosses fingers) please pray for me that it stays that way. So why dwell on it? I need to get on my life, get past this 'writer's block' that I seem to have, and get back to my passion. Enough said.

ramblings..again
Sometimes I think my body is trying to screw me over. More bad test results. Nothing life threatening but not that good either. And not anything I want to talk about on here. I really wish that lady would call me back about registration, I already called for transportation, (I called 2 weeks ahead of time to get cab, you have to get one, its ridiculous, I know. If I don't hear anything by Friday I'll call the school again. I cleaned my apartment today, and I'm in a good mood, so I might make some world class enchiladas and freeze some (the recipe makes eight, and I can't see myself eating 8 enchiladas in one sitting...:) Other than some minor medical issues I'm feeling good today. I watered my daises today, the soil was dry so I watered them. They still look as if they are dying. I think I have a knack for killing flowers. I need Jessie to come and resurrect them :)

I see, well at least soon I will
So after several instances of holding "Gone With the Wind" up to my nose to read (the font is small, but not THAT small) and ignoring the notice over 4or 5 months ago (hey I was BUSY) that I was due for an eye exam and new glasses, I succumbed to the pressure and made an appointment. It was pretty strange, I could barely read a thing with my glasses ON nonetheless off. Maybe that's why I've been squinting at the clock on the tv. I thought it was just little :) But now that I look at it up close....Anyways, I was prescribed bifocals, since I was having trouble seeing far away and up close. Part it was side effects from my meds but he also said this usually happens when we start getting older...WHAT? OLDER? I'm thirty not forty. I'm just hoping they don't have those little lines across them anymore, because that wouldn't be....cool. Oh but the good part is I can keep the same frames!
I've kept the same frames since I started wearing glasses, so I must have 3 pairs of the same glasses in different prescriptions lying around my house somewhere...but I can't find any of them....so no confusion.
Still anxious about some stuff....trying to keep cool. But writing it all down in a journal helps. Great way to purge emotions. :)
